As this code has come from HMRC it suggests to me that they do not have full details of your employment/unemployment history.  A P45 from last employer will only have details of the tax code they used 1263L month 1 basis and the earnings you had from them; and anyway should not be used by the new employer once HMRC have issued a tax code to them.
I would suggest you get in touch with HMRC to find out for certain why they have you on a non-cumulative (month 1) tax code.

I'll get in touch with HMRC and try to get this sorted out. Just two questions.

    1. Am I currently overpaying / underpaying tax ?
    2. If I was not to of started this thread and done nothing, would I of automatically got a bill / rebate from HMRC in the new financial year ?

Assuming the tax code of 1263L month 1 is your correct code (I would guess it is the standard 1257 plus something like uniform cleaning) then as at month 10 that is any payday from 6/1/22 to 5/2/22 you can earn just over £10500 before tax is due. You do appear not to have reached that point with earnings of about £3000 and some SSP as far as I can tell so no tax would be due.
As to question 2 if after the tax year end you had overpaid tax or underpaid by more than a small amount then HMRC will eventually be in touch to correct the tax position.
Looking back I see you were out of work and not claiming benefit from  June to November.  This may be the problem as you will probably be unaccounted for at HMRC during this time.

Get a P45 from Agency B, they have to send you 1 by law. Hand that to you current company.

Don't stress about the tax, it'll work itself out in the end.

Get access to your online hmrc tax account (there is an app).

The P45 from last employer is not going to alter anything, it will have a non-cumulative tax code and as HMRC have issued a tax code the new employer would not use the P45.
It will work itself out in the end but that could be well into the next tax year; better to sort it now before this tax year ends.
  • Been in touch with HMRC who have looked at my records and say the confusion has stemmed from me not getting a P45 from either of the agency's I worked for. Advised to get P45 from both and have made adjustments there end.
  • Yes, sure you will.
