left parcel with neighbours who's never in

Unless the OP has specified that the package can be left with a neighbour it will be up to the vendor and carrier to sort things out. That said, it wouldn't be that difficult for the OP to drop a note through the neighbours door saying they understand an item for the OP has been left with them. They have called a few times but no answer, could the neighbour let them know once they get home.

So each is unique by the postcode 👍Sandtree said:
You would hope so, and in the UK they will be once you get down to postcode, but it can be problematic as for example there are 3 Abbey Roads in London, one in NW10 and one in NW6 and so fairly close to each other... if someone wasnt using GPS it'd be easy to mess them up.born_again said:>>My address is unique and next door is a different address. Isn't everyone's?
Agree with everyone else, you say you cannot be bothered to get it from your neighbour (and I assume you didnt list the neighbour as a "safe place" or such), the vendor will say they wont refund you (unless you commit fraud and say the neighbour refuses to give it to you/says they dont have it) and so you will end up writing letters and going to court to try and get the money rather than knock there door a few more times or stick a note in.
Personally I am very thankful when delivery companies take the initiative and leave it with neighbours as its much better than the 20 mile trek to the depot to collect it.Life in the slow lane0 -
Also worth double checking with other neighbours if they are truly not in much - I had card through my door saying a parcel was with right hand neighbour (seemed odd, not often in on weekdays) and it turned out the wrong number had been written on the card and packet was with left hand neighbour...But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

As I said "you'd hope so once you get down to postcode"... obviously not everyone bothers with a postcode (I swear my gran thought they were the devils work) and without GPS to leverage the postcode its hard to know on the street what the postcode is unless you happen to know off hand which borough each postcode is in or the layout of the sectors.born_again said:
