Scottish Power amended bill - 4 months after settling account!

Hi,
I bought a house last summer where Scottish Power was the dual supplier. I switched to Pure Planet (I know
) and settled the SP accounts.
Four months later, SP have sent an amended bill. It's not a huge amount but I will contest it out of principle.
Can they do this? Account was settled in good faith as far as I am concerned.

Well that depends. Did you provide accurate meter readings 4 months ago or was it settled based on an estimated reading? What are the readings on both Bill 1 and Bill 2?0

Account was settled in good faith as far as I am concerned.It would be better to contest it if it is wrong, not just because...If you had noticed they had made a mistake some months later you would want to get it fixed, they have the same option...There really is only one right answer though as the bill has to be based on your meter readings and your payments, so I'd look there and compare the 2 bills to see who is right and then decide to pay it or contest it based on facts.0 -
