Hi. Does anyone roughly know how long probate takes after it’s been acknowledged. Thankyou.

I guess it depends on how simple or complicated the answers you gave are,and whether they need proof,e.g. savings, house value etc.I sent mine, online, followed by the will and death certificate by post, almost 2 weeks ago.got the acknowledgement and death certificate returned to me last week.I'll keep you posted.1

I think it's one of those questions that depends on how long your piece of string is. I had the email acknowledging receipt of the will and the one saying that probate had been granted within about two minutes of each other, with the paper grants arriving by post a few days later. This was last June.

Thankyou. I’m waiting to complete on a house that’s going through probate, they have a probate solicitor dealing with it. Apparently it was acknowledged on the 2nd December so 8 weeks ago but still no probate. Frustrating to say the least.0

Little would have happened over the Xmas / New Year period. Likewise it's been peak pandemic time with many people absent from their jobs.0

I filed online a couple of weeks ago, forms completed on a Thursday, acknowledged on Wednesday and granted a few minutes later. Eight days total from completing online and receiving the paper copy of the Grant of Probate.

Eight days total from completing online and receiving the paper copy of the Grant of Probate.I think they've changed some of the details at the start of this year ,but when I did it last year, I filled the form in online, and had to provide contact details (email and mobile number) for the other executor. they then sent them an e-mail link and phone OTP and they had to go in and agree to the details I'd provided - I couldn;t carry on with the application unti they;d done that. There was a form that I could print off and get their signature on to confirm that they'd done it, but there was no requirement to send it off - my understanding is that it was just another safeguard for me in case they later claimed that it wasn;t them.My timeline was simialr to rjandhl - I completed the online application on a Thursday, posted the will by Special Delivery on the follwing Monday, got confirmation that it had been granted on the Thursday and the paper grants arrived the following Monday. We didinlt need to send a death certificate, but I think this may be because it was awhiel before we applied and so the death was on the national register by then.
