Hi peeps, have you checked on the government website? Easy to do -

    https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-status

It's up to date and relevant and tells you when the MOT for your vehicle expires. Then you know what to do.   :)
You didn't see the direct link to it ( https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ ) a few posts back...?
We were discussing that those dates are not as expected, they appear to have been deferred by a few months, with no notice given

Is it anything to do with the extra 6 months vehicle owners got on their MOT due to Covid and a mix up due to that
Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time

Don't think so, because last year's MOT was at about the right time.

Don't think so either.  We had a full year with no MOT.  Got it tested last February, now it's July.

As an update, I mentioned this to my wife...
    Her thoughts:
Get a screenshot of the vehicle enquiry site saying your MOT is later than expected. That way, if they silently bring it forward without telling you, at least you have something to point to...

Yep.  Printed it off and printed the email too, taking no chances.
  • Mine was due next week, checked online and says covered until August 👌

An update on this as I have now received a reply to the email I sent the DVA.

    Apparently...

"Your vehicle was awarded a further 5 month exemption because it was aged 4-9 at the time that exemptions were awarded."

So the new extended mot date is correct but still none the wiser as to why the 5 month exemption was applied and why I wasn't notified it was happening in the first place.

OOOPS!! That's me told, then. Thanks, RikM xx  Don't you just love it when people other than the OP tell you off good and proper? Me too.  :)
