Move from Peoples energy to British gas has been a disaster so far for me

The move from Peoples energy to British gas has been a disaster so far for me.

I set up a direct debit in October and they have never taken it so I now owe money all the way back to the 15th of October. They got my address wrong and thought my meter was one down the road. I phoned up twice to try and sort it out, both times I got put through to someone speaking broken English on a muffled line that could not understand a word I was saying. They were supposed to contact me to arrange payment but this never happened.

Their website does not work! The my account section says my bill is ready for download but nothing is there for me to download, no PDF.

The amount they say I owe does not match up with what I have been entering using meter readings and is far higher than I have worked out it should be.

I clicked the link to get a paper bill sent out to me but this has not happened and I also noticed they have charged me £8 twice for asking for a paper bill.

Has anyone else experienced similar things?

What a shower of idiots.

Sorry to make it worse, but the start date for the BG bill will be 19th September which was the day BG were appointed as SoLR.
It may have taken a little while to actually change the supplier ID on your account but that doesn't change the start date.

I got an email saying it was on the 15th of October that they officially took over my account.

Sadly that is referring to getting your supplier ID updated, they took responsibility for your supply in September when your failed supplier lost their supply licence.
Some of the messages you get will be from the normal switching process, but that does not apply in the case of a SoLR.
