Hi,
My neighbour has this bush, its incredibly aromatic all year round, quite a herby fragrant smell that you can smell at some distance. I want one!!
(neighbour doesn't know, before their time)
Thank you!

It looks like something from the Thyme family but not 100% sure.

We also have one of those but I have no idea what it is - like your neighbour, it was here when we moved in.
If all else fails, would your neighbour let you have a cutting? Although that might take some time to grow. . .

It might be Sweet Box also known as Christmas Box.
Proper name Sarcococca.
Does it have creamy, scented flowers at the moment?I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Aren't the Sarcococca leaves more elliptic ..... it's shape/form does seem to indicate a Sarcococca though.....
I'm also wondering if this is a Daphne - the 1st image looks like there's a slight chlorosis going on .... its form looks too neat though ......
If taking cuttings from hardwood shrubs, like these, you're looking at a long term project to getting it anywhere near a 30 or 60cm though !!!1 -
Youve tried a free app, ie plant net, etc ?0

For years, next door had dogs and I assumed it was some sort of scented doggy doo bin up the side of their house. Lol0 -

Take a piece to a garden centre or nursery and see of someone can identify it.0

Plant net is 80% confident its Buxus sempervirens
(Caucasian boxwood, European box, Persian boxwood, Turkish boxwood, Boxtree, Boxwood, Boxwoodtree, Box, Common box, Common boxwood, French boxwood, American Boxwood, Box Tree, Dudgeon)
Strong scent seems to fit the description, who knew there were apps to recognise plants??? Thank everyone!1 -
Sarcococca isn’t fragrant all year round, only when it’s flowering. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
