Hello all,

I’m trying to figure out a way to 
1) Get some sort of alert if any fixed price tariffs become cheaper over the next few weeks
2) Easily keep track of the cheapest UK tariff for fixed deals (it’s a bit hit and miss at the minute)

Planning to keep an eye on the price rises and switch out as soon as it’s announced (like slip in there before they remove them) if the rise is substantial and likely seems beneficial to lock in given October prices also rising. 

It’s just hard to know which tariff is definitely the cheapest in the UK, and price comparison I don’t know it’s covering them all? 

Also it seems so easy to miss a price change / drop without checking all the time!

The new Ofgem cap will be announced on or around the 7th of February. Energy companies have to give notice before increasing their variable tariffs so we'll find out where they're headed in early March.

Fixed tariffs rarely last for more than a month or two (some were being changed every week or so during September and October) but wholesale gas and electricity prices seem to have levelled off so it's not clear whether tariffs are likely to rise or fall.

The energy companies will be faster than you and even if not may pull all their offers just before they come out.  You can probably have a fair stab (assuming no government intervention or war in Ukraine).  Around 50% in April and possibly 20% next October.

Gas prices are hovering at the moment.
