PIP Claim/Hospital

No worries. Then the advice given above is correct.

Just to draw this to a close, PIP was awarded minus a two week period of the total hospital admissions (the person concerned was in four different hospitals over a period between October and mid-November). Not sure why they took two weeks off when the total stay was about 30 days but the person concerned doesn't want to make a fuss about it.
For interest, the PIP award was back-dated to the time that the form was requested from DWP. Back payment was received before notice of entitlement. The decision was made and actioned within about ten days of assessment. The total time between requesting the form and getting the notice if entitlement was about six months.
Just a shame that the person concerned was poorly advised at the start of things as a medical condition was left off the form (although added at the assessment stage so no real implication for PIP) but they were told not to apply for UC until PIP decision was made. No idea why as then there wouldn't have been a struggle to pay rent etc. UC applied for and awarded now, just have to complete the UC50 and return it.1 -
That was appalling advice. The two are completely unrelated. Reminder when getting advice to check that the person giving the advice has knowledge of what they are advising on!olgadapolga said:.. they were told not to apply for UC until PIP decision was made.
