Virgin account question.

My present deal with Virgin comprises....
Mix TV, with Tivo V6 box.
M100 Fibre Broadband
Landline rental with free weekend calls.
I presently pay £47.50 a month which includes a discount of £17. This comes to an end on 19th April, 2022.
I'm aware there is a looming price increase which takes effect at the beginning of March, and around this time I'll be contacting Virgin to hopefully negotiate a new deal.
However, in the present climate, I would be grateful for any feedback in terms of what you would expect to pay for the above services?
I am a single householder and have no wish to upgrade, being happy with what I already have, I just don't wish to face any excessive increases, given the current level of inflation.
Thank you.

I've got a similar package, although I think you have some extra TV channels, and I recently was able to negotiate an 18 month deal for £34 a few days after being notified of the price increase. I got through to retentions after calling 150 on landline and was originally told £43 a month was the very best they could give me as opposed to the £38 I was previously paying. I called back later in the day to tell them I had thought about it and it was too much and to give notice of switching to Sky because in the current climate I couldn't afford to stay with Virgin. They offered me my current package for £34 a month on an 18 month contract to start immediately which I accepted. Hope this helps as maybe a yardstick. Some people have said they had to wait for a call back from retentions to get the best deal having given formal notice of switching but this is what happened in my case.1

I would certainly tell them you're a pensioner faced with all these mounting bills and having to make difficult choices, been a loyal customer etc and have a look at cheap deals rivals are offering and what Virgin are offering new customers so you can quote it to them if you need to. Good luck1
