I have run several scans from a few different providers but my Pc still takes about 4 minutes to load and be ready to use.
Can any one recommend a course of action to reduce this time on starting up please?

Do you start up from scratch. hybernate, sleep speed things up.
As said if not had the SSD treatment that will give massive gains.
Also helps a machine that is short on memory as swap speeds up.0 -
As per previous comments, install the OS on an SSD and keep your data on your existing HDD, as a secondary drive, assuming your desktop has expansion space and sufficient SATA ports for a secondary
There's a few stages, and what you do to install your OS on the SSD will depend on whether or not you have physical install media, what OS you are currently using, etc., so ask here if you want to proceed with this.0 -

if you don't feel.like doing it i would estimate to clone your existing drive onto an ssd would be abour £50-75 plus cost of ssd.
or assuming windows 10 choose settings - update and security - recovery - reset this pc to clean it up. make sure your data is backed up.first.
how big is your drive? what is make and model.of said pc and what processor ?0
