My EON in home display has just stopped working after two and a half years without any problems.

I am not sure if this is a fault on the device itself or something else. I have Chameleon IHD3.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems and perhaps found a solution?

PS: It just says "Waiting for current data" and is not displaying the time, instead showing 0:00

  • Are you in the middle of moving over to E.ON Next. Lots of reports on here that people's Smart meters stop working when they move over.

Thanks and yes, I have heard this but I was migrated from EON to EON Next in August 2021 and have had no problems until now.

I also now have monthly bills (previously quarterly) and the smart meter is working fine, reporting the correct readings each month from August to December 2021.
  • I'd probably try restarting the IHD and if that does work you'll have to contact E.ON.

According to E.ON Next, I have been disconnected from the Smart Meter system. They don’t know why but they will get me reinstated. This may take a week or so as their Smart Meter teams are very busy.

This also means that they cannot get my readings so I will need to submit manual readings until the problem is resolved.
  • Hi i am also having problems with Eon Next i went back to Eon in March 2020 as my previous company were terrible and Eon had always been good. Took out a new 15 month tariff with Eon in April 2021 with no mention of Eon Next or going from quarterly bills either. As of November 2021 Eon emailed me saying they had no Smart meter readings for over 10 months which was wrong as i have prints showing both gas and electric readings were done bu smart meter until october 2021. They are now telling me to read meters every month i did this in October but i am not doing it anymore as its not my fault they have messed up since changing from Eon to Eon Next in October 2021. I had a quarterly bill for gas and electric in November 2021 and then one for Gas in December 2021. I then had an email on 19th January 2022 asking me to read my electricity meter. I can't deal with with this i have always had quarterly bills and now my gas and electricity bills are coming in seperately and i am not going to know where i am. We have rang Eon Next and they were not interested and said we had to go to monthly bills now with no prior warning . they also said this would be passed on to offgem as a complaint which it never was. We have now emailed them and we had a reply but once again they won't accept responsibility for their mistakes. We have written back again but don't think we will get any help as we don't think they care since changing from Eon to Eon Next. Any help or info would be appreciated.
