Forgot agreement reference when paying off loan
Hi, I’ve just paid off a settlement figure to Admiral Loans but I did not see the part of the email about including my agreement reference number in the transaction (yes seems obvious in hindsight..) until it was too late.
I’ve called my bank and they can’t help with changing the payment reference I put, as the transaction is now “posted”, so my hopes rest on Admiral. As it’s the weekend their call centre is closed… but I’ve emailed them asking them to allocate my payment to my loan reference.

Since I have no option but to stew on this for a couple of days now, has this ever happened to anyone? Will Admiral be able to allocate my payment or have I just lost a four-figure sum forever?!?!
Any help / reassurance massively appreciated at this point!

They will probably just want a screen shot of the transation leaving your bank to help them match it up. (with the expanded details should your bank give them).1

Probably happens enough as it's simple to do.1

You would not have lost your money just becuase you haven't put a reference number in.
It simply would be left in a holding account, and rightly so Admiral wouldn't know where to allocate the funds.
As per the above posters, you would need to prove the money was yours, so proving them some evidence, that might just be a screenshot of the payment.1
