Was moved to EDF from Utility point.  EDF in chat  said will get bill only every 6 months.
and advised to do this to work out what im using.

"Elect raeding is already calculated in kwh in bill however for gas, 1Your gas meter measures usage in units, but like all suppliers, we have to do a bit of maths to turn it into kWh.
Here's how it works:
GAS UNITS USED X 2.83 X CALORIFIC VALUE (40.1) X VOLUME CORRECTION (1.02264) ÷ 3.6

Too much maths for me.
Bit confused by online calculaters im looking at ,
so is there a best default one to go to input meter readings for gas and electricity in and change to kilowatts.

Cubic metres of gas used multiplied by 11 is a good enough estimate.

You have an imperial gas meter that measures in cubic feet?
If so, then you multiply your gas meter reading by 30. This isn't exact but will probably be close enough.

Gas meter has m with a 3 above it. Cant see how to show with keyboard.
But youd think the energy providers would have  calculater to work it out.

That isn't maths, it's simple arithmetic.

It is not a "simple" calculation as it varies according to where you live and from day to day, the calorific value is the variable factor. For a metric meter multiplying meter units by 11.1 is close enough and for an imperial meter by 32.

    2779kWh (kiloWatt HOURS, not kW)
You'll have to add the daily charges, use your own p/kWh rate and don't forget 5% VAT.

You need to take a photo of your gas meter and make sure it shows the serial number and the units - Send this to EDF and demand that they update the national database. You will find your gas bill drop by about a third once they have got the meter registered correctly.

Utility Point will have been overcharging you for gas, but unfortunately there isn't much you can do about this now that they have ceased trading.
