For electricity I can switch between kW(h) and £(/h), but not for gas.

I have exactly the same model and both gas and electric will switch between £ and kWh, no idea why it isn't working for you...

IHDs don't represent how you are billed, so even if your supplier keeps the tariff details up to date, the display will always be slightly out, particularly with gas where the CV used for billing is the supplier's perceived average for the period you are being billed.
Electricity is more accurate, but even then, when do you add the daily standing charge in? At one minute past midnight and accept that throughout the day your reported cost is a bit high, or at the end of the day and accept that the figure reported is a bit low all day?

Smart meters should just be seen as a way of you not having to supply readings, or if you do, because they've gone "dumb" and the IHD still works, it's a convenient way to read your meters. The novelty of the IHD showing when you're using a lot of electricity soon wears off. It doesn't take long to realise it jumps when you switch the electric kettle on etc.

As you have highlighted, the costs shown on the IHD cannot be relied upon.

I don't mind "slightly out", but when £ figures make no sense whatsoever it's is a different kettle of fish.

This is another question that I'm not that bothered with. Yes, in my display the electricity standing charge is added at the start of the new day - and I am absolutely happy with this. However, for some mysterious reason the daily count  for gas starts from zero.

Thanks, I made it working now.

    For the record:
I contacted Outfox, they asked me to email them a photo of the sticker with the smart display number - and they updated the unit prices in the device.
Now £ figures make perfect sense.

ETA: also now, unlike before, the WiFi symbol on the meter starts blinking sometimes, that possibly means that the display communicates with some remote server, i.e. any future updates will hopefully be automatic.

It's good that OTM could send the update to your IHD, and that they knew which buttons to press at their end!
