Is it a requirement to have a gas safety or service boiler regularly...

In order to claim on buildings and contents insurance if there is breakdown or god forbid a gas Leak etc etc. Just checking as have missed a year and not bothered with it being serviced this year...

No, I've never seen that as a requirement. Though normal buildings insurance isn't going to cover "breakdowns" of boilers.0

No unless insurance specifically states that .As above not all house insurance cover boiler breakdowns .0

Presumably you mean a Home Emergency policy (which can be sold as part of a Home policy or stand alone)?
Ultimately read the policy wording before buying... looking at the JL one as it happened to be at hand then they require an inspection of the boiler at the start of the policy and will not provide cover until any issues identified are fixed. There is no clauses about it having prior year inspections.0
