I have that message for a couple of years. I phoned them a few weeks ago and they gave me the amounts I needed to pay to make them full years, which I have done so although the message hasn't changed so I will need to phone again to check the money has been credited to the correct years.1

I'll give them a call on Monday and see if they can tell me what's going on. I hope your payments are credited soon.

What puzzles me is that I have a couple of years full contributions showing for years in the middle of the gaps when I was in exactly the same situation.Sorry - I've only just seen your response. No, I didn't, but then neither did I for the years for which I have been credited. My understanding is that receiving WTC as a self-employed person with profits under £6k (can't remember the exact cut-off figure) means that I may get Class 3 credits automatically.I'm very aware of that 'may', rather than 'will', but what I find puzzling is that I've received them for some years while others still show as being checked.0

I know it is a year since this was posted but I am having exactly the same issue so, having read this, I will now phone up to get it sorted.
Thank you very much to all the useful posts on this thread.0 -
I believe people have reported phone lines take a long time to answer (if you're not cut off). May be better to send a letter by a signed for delivery, and keep a copy (and the delivery record) so that if there are issues later, you have a record of the enquiry.

Thank you very much to all the useful posts on this thread.I realise now it would have been very helpful for me to post an update, but I'm afraid it didn't occur to me at the time. Following the helpful advice from people here, I contacted HMRC. I spoke to a very helpful chap who looked up my record when I was on the phone. The issue in my case was that the Working Tax Credits people hadn't informed whoever needed to know at HMRC that I'd been in receipt of WTC for the years in question.I hope your problem is as easily solved.1 -

Ok so I have 5 years with this message. Seems to coincide with my accountant being given access to my account. I have not received tax credits and I have been paying class 4 and class 2 nic’s I paid in full as requested and have statements showing that my nic’s were paid. I’m self employed. I sent am online enquiry 12 months ago, which was acknowledged by post. Nothing has happened. Today I phoned future pensions and was told that where tax payments are made class 2 nic’s get lost or stuck at HMRC without DWP being informed of them. Kind of bunched in with Class 4 Nic’s I found this extremely difficult to understand but he told me I needed to request a manager call back as a typical call centre bod might not be experienced enough to deal with it. He called these gaps undecided years. I can’t find anything about them anywhere, but I just need to prove I’ve paid my Nic’s apparently. Anyone heard of undecided years?0
