Smart Meter IHD showing double usage for today

My Smart Meter IHD display is showing double usage for today but when I work it out from the actual meter reading on the IHD and physical meter and also check on the Bright app, it appears today's usage is the same as every other day (correct figure). Purely from a curiosity perspective, I'm struggling to figure out how the IHD has come up with this erroneous figure for today and what could have gone wrong for it to show this. Does anyone have any theories?

Hi,

put the IHD back in the box, read actual meters at least once  a month, send to provider, and set up a wee spreadsheet to keep an eye on usage an cost.

Yep but it pulled the same erroneous data back from the smart meter

Very infrequently, my IHD has a little paddy.  It seems to be when the clocks go forwards and backwards.  On these days, it does not register any gas usage.  The following day it rectifies itself.
