Hi,

My wife and I tried to take up the offer of a discounted mirror will as advertised on the Martin Lewis website. However, the Co-op refused to honour the offer.

I’m sure you will agree this is a very serious issue. I have asked (Removed by Forum Team) from the Co-op to reply to me in writing as to why the Co-op refuses to honour this offer. I have had no reply from him to date. Is this forum the best way to flag this up to Martin Lewis, as I am sure he will want to investigate further.

For information, we did manager to complete our mirror wills using Make A Will Online, also advertised on the Martin Lewis website.

  • I am not aware of the specific deal, and you don’t give a reason why they would not honour it, but these deals usually only apply to very simple wills.

As for a cheap on line will, you won’t find any of the regulars on this board recommending them. A will is one of the most important documents you will ever make, and far to important to be left to unregulated will writers ( your beneficiaries) have no comeback if they make a mess of it.

Unless you have the simplest of estates with no property, then your first call should be a local solicitor and a face to face meeting to discuss your estate.

Hi Keep_pedalling, thanks for your reply.

The specific deal can be viewed on the moneysavingexpert website. Just search "wills" and view article "Cheap and free wills-Guides  Jan 13, 2022".
I haven't given a reason, because (Removed by Forum Team) from the Co-op hasn't replied yet.
Our will is very simple. Simple enough to be approved by the company Make A Will Online, recommended by Martin Lewis.
It's interesting to here that any of the regulars on this board wouldn't recommend a cheap on line will, yet Martin Lewis recommends both these companies, describing them as "Top low-cost will writing services, regulated by the SRA"

    Hope this helps to clarify.

I have also tried to use this link (Martin's money saving expert link on his website) to do a cheaper co-op online will but although it directs me to the page it is not working when I try to click on start online will. Surely if co-op are not offering this special offer anymore it should be removed from Martins Money Saving Expert page of recommendations? Can one of the Money Saving Experts confirm if this offer is still valid and if not have the link removed from their website please?

You'd be better contacting the editorial team directly rather than resurrecting an old thread about it, I doubt they scour the forums looking for queries like this.

dobedo could you please email me a short description of what you're experiencing (appreciate you've alluded to it in your post above) along with a screenshot of the broken page you're seeing to:
