Oppose planning permission

  • Just had another thought; it may even be Permitted Development which means no Planning Permission is required, and therefore there will be no need for any publicity and you will have no formal right of objection as there will be no application.
(In other words it can just be built without consulting anyone).

You really need to contact your local Planning Department.

See this link halfway down where it says 'Outside the curtilage of a dwelling house'.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

AFAIK Dover isn't in the Isle of Man!

I think the link that seven-day-weekend was pointing you to is:

  • Good evening,
I took in consideretion all your comments and ideas. Thanks again. This is the letter i'm going to send to object the planning permission as we can't oppose it...

The local newspaper are starting to be interested in this case and may write an article about it.

Here is the text and fell free to give me your comments and advice :

I am writing to you to inform you of my objections to the planning application for the Maxton allotments ref no DOV/07/01364.
    I object to the proposed 1.8m high palisade fence that will surround the allotments and my objections are as follows;

This fence will virtually obliterate any view I currently enjoy from the side and rear of my property. This includes views from my kitchen, dining room and the lounge at the back. (That is all but one of my downstairs rooms).
This will be an eyesore approximately two metres or so from my windows and will completely dominate my property.

The erection of this fence will cage me in on 3 sides of the building and will undoubtedly impact on my quality of life as well as overshadow my garden and courtyard.

The fence will at some points be more than 3m high because it will sit on top of my wall and this will surely cut out light to my property. I consider this to be detrimental to my quality of life, which any reasonable person would question and oppose.

The erection of the fence will make it impossible for me to render the outside of my home because at some points the fence would be only 3ft away from my house.

I am deeply concerned about the type of fence and the height. The allotments would still be secure from the general public if the fence was to stop on the Folkestone road and begin again the other side of the houses where the proposed entrance gates will be. I do hope you will consider the impact this will have on me and my home as I would never have considered buying my beautiful home had I known that I would soon be living in a metal cage.
I feel certain that any reasonable appraisal of this proposal, taking into account the impact upon me and my home, will come to the right decision and will find a workable alternative to the current scheme.

    Yours sincerely,

"The fence will obliterate my view" Did you decide to ignore the advice on invalid objections??
