I run a small business, as a sideline, with a very small turnover from - just a couple of thousand. I have noticed that people are asking more and more to pay by card over the phone. I was wondering what was the cheapest way to go about accepting card payments - either credit, debit or both.
Or is it uneconomic for such a small enterprise?

Hi
You could get a virtual terminal from Paypal as the cheapest option. Or if you are established and have had a bank account for a while try Googling for credit card merchanting. The cost is normally about £15 to your bank and about £20 to a gateway provider each month. Some card handlers also charge a percentage too.0 -
I used to a very small business selling guitar parts online and the fees were about $40 a month for the account. It ended up not being worth it for me because everyone wanted to use paypal.
Is it an online business?0
