Who does smart meter for a 2-rates system (5 terminal)

Hope you guys can point me in the right direction. British Gas have said they don't offer a smart meter because I have a 2-rates system apparently. They said I have 5 terminals, and my storage heater is in use.
Their technician told me to try E-ON, but E-ON aren't taking on any new customers.
Any advice on where to try before I waste a load of time with customer service departments?

From what I've read, elsewhere, 5-terminal smart meters are in very short supply.

EDF fitted a 5 wire smart meter for us last Spring. But we were an existing EDF customer. Might be worth contacting them to see if they can supply.
I guess a key thing to consider though is your existing tariff. If you were lucky enough to lock in a fixed deal with BG a few months back before prices went crazy, then now isn't the time to be switching suppliers just to get a smart meter.0 -
Why do you want a smart meter?0

Can also use a 4-port meter with an external contactor controlled by the ALCS built into all smart meters.

It sounds alsmost as though BG's back-end systems can't cope with 5-wire smart meters.lohr500 said:EDF fitted a 5 wire smart meter for us last Spring. But we were an existing EDF customer. Thanks for all the input. I'll give EDF a go.
I moved into a new flat and the current system is a pre-pay, so I guess I don't really care about a smart meter. I just need to get off their ridiculous plan and get a credit meter of some kind so I can pay via direct debit.0 -
Well @bankrubber it seems you were lucky you were told by a BG "technician" that they don't support them as I was incorrectly informed that they did, back in early December by whoever I was talking to. I've since seen a couple of posts round here where people have found otherwise, one quite a horror story!
