I was gifted gift sets for Xmas, I'd like to return several ad I can't use them due to allergies.. they were gifts, I don't have the receipt. I understand they would have been reduced by now, however I'm only looking for exchange or credit note?

You will need proof of purchase if that's Boots policy. Can the buyer help?0

Best thing is to ask the individual(s) who bought them for the receipts. (difficult with some obviously)
Otherwise I suspect the best you might get is a credit note for the current selling price, assuming they will take them back at all.
May be easier to pass them to a charity holding a raffle or regift them to someone who doesn't have allergies.
I hate being given toiletries as I always get things I can't use - allergies, plus I'll get bath bombs or bubbles which are useless as I don't have a bath!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. Some places will as goodwill, but some won’t - at the end of the day you could have stolen them so a lot more retailers are being more careful these days.1

The best thing to do with unwanted presents is to keep them as presents for others (remembering of course who gave it to you) .1

Yes I once gave someone a present that ended up doing the rounds and ten years later I was given it back.2
