Unfair disciplinary options

My wife had been falsely accused of bullying. She made the mistake of saying she was going for another role to a colleague and I know her company is very unethical and used underhanded tactics to keep people in place. They have provided no verbal warning and gone straight to a disciplinary hearing next week. The new tile she had got has not started yet and she is now worried about losing it due to a disciplinary or bad reference. Is there anything she can do to avert this. They have done this once already last year when she had a temperature but didn’t get a text from her boss saying don’t come in. I had dropped her at work so she was stuck and got a 12 month written disciplinary whic ironically was then overturned by them as unnecessary a month later. Please help. I’ve said resign now but I want to know if that will help

Disciplinary hearing should be about collecting the facts, or at least gathering input from all involved parties. That is the opportunity for your wife to provide input.

I’m goi g to see if I’m allowed to attend or that she can record the meeting. They manufactured this because recently a lot of staff have left and the pressure is on those remaining. If they think she wil leave they will try and stop or make it inconvenient. They are horrible. They employed someone to sit and watch them and listen to them and they dare not talk in the office now. My wife simply said that her boss was a bit sharp because of a family loss that time of year and it blew up from there. They have insisted I drive her to work when she could work from home as she can’t drive and they have insisted I have Covid tests over a year ago when I had a cold and they wanted to make my wife take unpaid leave unless I could prove to them it was clear. This was before LFT so she had to wait several days unpaid for the results for me0

Who is she alleged to be bullying and have they given any info at all? Can she guess what the bullying is?
The meeting will be to ask her questions and for to put her side across. It would be better for her to think of everything recently and be a little prepared with why she said /did things.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
She said to a colleague basically that her boss was a bit sharp due to a loss at that time of year this then got round that she was saying things about people behind their backs and being an office full of alpha females it turned into a bit of covert backstabbing and forming alliances to throw others under the bus. She was not attacking or belittling anyone it was the usual workplace banter and griping that had now been turned into a way of keeping people in check0

At present it’s lose lose. If this becomes a written disciplinary which based on past form for this place it will, she loses her dream job. If she is dismissed she Loses her dream job offer. It’s highly unlikely this will come to nothing0

Most likely she will be locked in another year with a job she hates that’s killing her with no other option because it’s hanging over her head0

You seem to be under the impression that your wife is incapable of defending herself/clearing her name in all this. I presume that's not because you think she is actually 'guilty' of bullying.
As has been said, the meeting is investigative to find out who said what to whom. It will also be for the person making the allegation against your wife to put forward some evidence of their claim. In the absence of a witness, your wife could presumably just deny saying/doing whatever it is she's being accused of.0 -
Many thanks for the advice. The company does not play by the rules sadly locking her in place last time for a year with a disciplinary that they only overturned the month after that year had elapsed based on her having too many sick days off when she was not allowed in or paid in case I had Covid?! I’m not sure how one can expect a fair hearing when the goalposts are moving and this is a hearing in name only they have already decided her fate the same as last time. All I wanted was to find a way for her to accept the new job without this preventing her via a bad reference0
