hi , back in 2018 i went through a bad breakup and it left me in a bad financial situation that resulted in me defaulting on a credit card i had at the time .
since then i have been working hard to get it sorted and have been paying it off but the debt has been passed from one company to another. each time this has happened it looks like on my credit file a new default & shows up as multiple defaults . i have only ever had issue with one account and i was told at the time once the account defaults that they cannot re issue a default.
is there anyway this can be corrected ?

The original entry on your credit file will show a default status, it will have a date on it, the date the account defaulted.
Six years after that date, the whole entry will vanish automatically from your file.
Between then and now, the default status of the account will be reported monthly to the credit reference agencies, that is what you are seeing, just the monthly status update.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
