We know even less than you - what's the deed which is missing? If you don't understand, you're best to talk to your solicitor.2

There is a Missing Deeds Indemnity Policy, which is put in place where the title register makes reference to an old Transfer/Conveyance/Deed, but it is not available at the Land Registry, so no-one knows what it says. It would normally fall to the seller to either provide a copy of the missing deed (if, for example, you have the original copy with your other papers), or agree to pay for the indemnity policy. The buyer's solicitor is likely to insist on one or the other, particularly if there is a lender that they are also representing.0

Didn't you receive paperwork when you bought the property, either from your solicitor at the time or from the vendor leaving documents for you?
I assume from your original post that your current solicitor doesn't have the deed and neither does the Land Registry. Therefore, you will need to pay for the indemnity if the original deed cannot be located.1
