    on a credit card
  • If you booked a non-refundable flight then you have no entitlement to a refund just because you have changed your mind.

If the flight is going ahead the best you could do is see about changing the dates to sometime later in the year.

With Ryanair it's probably cheaper to just rebook than change dates!
Why can't you afford it, if eg redundancy your travel insurance may cover you if you have taken some out.

If he’s eligible for fee free flight changes then it probably wouldn’t.

As far as their flight schedules allow. Without looking I have no idea how far they currently go to.

Check on Ryanair.com to see up to what date flights for your route are on sale.

just bear in mind that when changing flights using 'manage my booking' on Ryanair, the price of the flights is always higher than the cost of the flight if it was a new booking.  I was looking to move a flight and as I could travel on any date I looked on the website to see when the cheapest flights were but when I came to change them the costs were over £20 more per flight.
I chatted to livechat and they said their system works in a different way and will find the cheapest flights available.  Mmm maybe I could help them with their search.
Anyway a couple of months ago my partner had paid a further £125 to move a flight including all admin charges etc which had originally cost about £90.  When Ryanair cancelled one of the rearranged flights we got the whole lot back so sometimes you feel like you have a win!
