  • @enthusiasticsaver thank you,I’m still up and down with moving so have shelved it for now, and am keeping in my head that the opportunity is always there to move away and start afresh and I will try to make improvements here for now.
I really do have a great life I just have a desire for country life, I always have,I was born in the wrong place!😂
I’m finally feeling a little proactive and have been dealing with a few things I was postponing, paperwork, restarting a couple of direct debits to continue paying off debt (I had put them on hold for a few months while I was abroad),and have got a first stage interview next week for a part time job.
I think at the moment I would ideally like to have a couple of part time jobs as I’m still not sure about what career I want so am hoping that will come to me soon!
    Have a brilliant Friday everyone!
    xx

    Hello Amber
Take a look at the Debt Free Challenges. You may be able to make a little more money to help.
Also maybe shop at a different shop if possible. at one of the discount supermarkets.
Good Luck with becoming debt free

  • @I_Love_compsThank you I will do that.
I tend to fritter money on the little day to day things, rather than anything big but it adds up!
Especially at the moment, everything is going up!
Need to set a budget for food shopping and actually stick to it!!!
  • Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. I have seen friends and family and done some nice walks and loads of house stuff, organising and cleaning. Finally tackled my tax return and tomorrow I will tackle speaking to the mortgage company, I have been on interest only for longer than intended, after I remortgaged years ago and bought my ex partner out,one of the reasons I first started getting in debt, and I want to talk through my options for the future.Job interview on Wednesday and I will apply for a couple more that have caught my eye.Happy Sunday evening all of you 😊😊
  • Hey you!

Popping on to subscribe and follow you on this mad journey we are all on.

What kinda dogs you got? I'm so allergic to cats but they are sooooo pretty - really want one but they make breathing rather difficult  :D

    Hi,nice to meet you!
A crazy cockapoo who is 8 and a very chilled cocker spaniel who is 3,I adore them!
    Do you have any pets?
    The cats moult a lot….
Love them and they are all rescues but will just have dogs in the future I think…
    Xx
  • I do. Have a border collie/lab cross called Bailey, he is 8 months old and the cutest wee thing ever.

Want another one but need to wait till I find out what is happening with the return to work first.

Aah how lovely, dogs are the best 🥰 I do find having two quite tricky but other people seem to cope I think it’s just me!😂
Hope everyone is having a good week, I had an online interview yesterday which I think went pretty well. Will hear if I get through to the next phase.
It’s not going to be a career and it’s not well paid but it could be a brilliant experience (a clue, it’s at a big castle where I live),especially with it being the Jubilee year.
We shall see,if I get it then it could be fun to do while I retrain for something more long term.
I have two more full time weeks at my job to go then it will just be a few hours a week so I have a little bit of leeway to get something else sorted.
Have a brilliant Thursday everyone,I’m off to take the dogs to the park xx

  • Your situation sounds similar to mine a few years ago. I had over £10k of debt and little income. I've reduced this a lot.

I also note that you are considering moving abroad. I did that 8 years ago on a whim and haven't looked back. I was living with my parents so had no real issues uprooting and just went with it.

Eventually I bought a flat here with my now wife so have a bit of experience in that regard. Let me just say that your money goes a lot further for property in Spain (as long as you're not on the coast!). We got a four bed flat 150m2 for approx €50k. Needed and still needs a bit of work but a complete bargain compared to UK prices. For 100k+ you have a 'casita' (small country house that are usually anything but small!) with land. Or for a bit extra, say upwards 120k, you have one with a pool. Exactly what I'd like one day but currently paying off debt and so not able to save.

Where were you thinking of moving? out of interest. Let me know if you need to know anything
  • Ah I can't wait for another but will likely be later this year if I do. Can't go ahead if I need to be in the office 2 days a week though.

Wouldn't be able to afford the dog walkers etc.

    Have a good day!
