New coat for child

Hi, My little boy needed a warmer coat for school so my hubby went out and bought him one today. He bought a age 6 which is for height 116cm.
My son is 4 and a bit and is 112cm tall. Should I go get the smaller size? It is only a wee bit long in the arms.

I would suggest keeping it, i know how quick they grow!!! you will look back in 5 months and be glad your hubby bought the bigger size! anyway its better than it being too small."Have you ever noticed that if you rearranged the letters in mother in law, they come out to Woman Hitler?":p

If money doesn't grow on trees then why do banks have branches?:D
Can you breathe out of your nose and mouth at the same time?
Why don't the hairs on your arms get split ends?:mad:0 -
If you change it for a smaller one, you may need to buy the bigger one by February....anyway, isn't it trendy to have a bit of growing room in kids coats? Seems to be in Blackpool anyway - lots of small kids in big coats at the moment

have to agree with nats3006 i always buy a bigger size so they last longer. i always find they are short in the arms in the size that fits.Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming ~ WOO HOO what a ride!0

I echo what the others have said and also I find I need to buy my boys a size too big cos when it's really cold they often have 2 or 3 layers underneath. Also sleeves slightly too long prevents a gap between gloves and sleeves!

Only trouble is that I did this for my daughter thinking she'd have growing room and the stupid coat didn't wash up well.
So I ended up with an ill fitting coat which I had to replace after a year so she never grew into it."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
I always buy coats bigger than needed so they last longer. I've always gone by height rather than age in clothes too.
Coats last well here. When they get a bit small or tatty, they get relegated to "playing out" coats, and then it doesn't matter when they get covered in mud, torn in bushes etc. Here I go again on my own....0
