Have I paid too much tax?

in Cutting tax
I know nothing about tax so hoping to get some help!
I was made redundant from my previous job in June 2021, so received wages from that employer from April 2021 until July 21 totalling just over £10,000. My tax code is 1268L and I paid £1476 in tax.
I was then unemployed whilst I searched for a new job until November 2021. My new job is considerably less money as I’ve gone from working full time to part time meaning I now fall under the threshold.
On my HMRC tax summary they’ve estimated my income to be £4400 from the new employer.

This means from April 21-22 I would have earned just over £14400.
Does this mean I’ve paid too much tax?

Probably yes.
Did you sign on for Jobseeker's Allowance?
Did you hand your P45 from your old job to the jobcentre or your new employer?0 -
I signed on for job seekers just for 2 months as to be honest it never crossed my mind to claim! So just for September and October. The P45 was handed to my new employer. I’ve checked my tax code online so I know that’s all correct.0

Which P45, the one from your old job or the one from DWP?0

From my old job. I don’t recall ever getting one from jobseekers.

In that case your new employer will make any tax refund due the first time they pay you.
If you received some Jobseeker's Allowance it's possible that you might owe some tax and if so HMRC would usually notify you of this next summer.0 -
Thanks, I’ve already had 2 lots of wages form my new employer, so I’m thinking they didn’t set me up correctly when I started.I phoned HMRC yesterday and they have amended my tax code and said that this will notify my employer and I’ll get a refund of just under £1000 when I next get paid.
thanks again for the help.1
