Energy company refund
Hi
Has anyone on here been with PFP and were in credit & then transferred to British Gas. I was transferred to BGas in October & still waiting for the £200 credit. I have spoken to BGaa numerous times only to be told it’s taking longer than expected? It’s now well over 100 days now since the transfer & we are now in arrears. They would not let me set up a direct debit until I cleared most of what we owe. I’m skint now through no fault of my own. How can I get this £200 please?

Often takes a long time for the administrators to sort .

British Gas have no control over the timescale unfortunately. PFP need to settle accounts and issue Final Bills. They will then advise BG of any credit balances and BG will need to process that data and then apply it to accounts. PFP are operating under administration and the administrators have already reported that PFP had some strange inter-company set up with things that needed clarifying before the final bill run could be done. The latest estimate on the PFP website is "early in the new year".

No amount of getting in touch with BG will change it unfortunately, at least not until PFP issue those final bills. I was able to set-up a DD with BG within the first few weeks of the transfer, will the website not let you do it either?1 -

alicef said:I wondering, do Ofgem put a time limit on SOLR transfer final bill production. What happens if PfP never produces the final bills?Ofgem have no power to force the administrators to do anything. The company no longer has a supply licence so none of the conditions in that which normally give Ofgem power are in force any more. That doesn't mean that the administrators are not under pressure to complete their work as quickly and as cheaply as possible though as they must meet their obligations to the creditors of the company.

I came across the 'Supplier Licensing Review: reducing credit balance mutualisation paper'. Only took Ofgem 3 years (2018 - 2021) to put out the paper and - wait for it - not implement anything - just ask for responses. A few months later a whole slew of suppliers went belly up. A rocket under the backside of regulator wouldn't go amiss.Fashion on the Ration 2025 23/661

That's exactly what Citizens Advice did a month ago. They certainly didn't pull their punches, rightly so.1
