£125 Nationwide switch for new customers - be careful!!

I took Martin's advice and opened a current account with Nationwide two days before I asked to switch my previous bank account to them, so that I could get the £125. Today I have received my £100 and not £125. I have just had a chat with them and it took a while, but they have now agreed to give me my extra £25. I kept the emails from them showing that I had opened my current account on 5th January, and initiated the switch on 7th January. It is worth leaving it at least two or three days before initiating the switch. Do challenge NW if you only get the £100, and make sure you keep all email records.

Or open a basic savings account first. Sounds like the current account wasn't fully open when you initiated the switch0

I'm not sure why two of you are asking about Energy. This post is in the Budgeting and Bank Accounts section!. Anyway I got the extra £25 so all good in the end.0

I initially only got £100 and I've been a member for more than 20 years. You are mistaking poor administration for something more deliberate.
