Damaged item refund

Hi I can’t find exactly this scenario through searching so sorry if it’s been answered a million times.
I bought an item through a retailer website and payment on my CC statement says it’s to this retailer, but the item was sold and delivered through a partner. It arrived really damaged and unusable. I emailed this retailer but didn’t hear back for a
while and I needed the item urgently so had to buy it elsewhere.

I’ve since heard back from the retailer agreeing the item is damaged and saying they’ve forwarded it onto their partner, but it’s not their problem. As it was bought from a partner I can’t return it to their store.
I only have 28 days to return this item for a refund and have heard nothing back and I’m currently out of pocket having had to buy it twice.
Surely this retailer is responsible for helping me return this for a refund if they sell it on their website?

Yes, your contract is with the retailer.
How long has it been since you returned the item?0 -
I haven’t returned it yet as I don’t know where to return it to! This is why I’m worrying because if they don’t tell me where to send it I can’t get it back to them within the 28 days.0

Who is retailer, who is partner?

You need to return to retailer your contract is with them not whom they bought it from, don’t let them fob you off with they are waiting to be paid from the ‘partner’ that is not your problem.0

Thanks all. I bought it from the range, it was sold and shipped by “a range plus partner”. Their website did say “when buying partner items like this, your contract of sale will be with our trusted partner instead of us”.I’ve contacted the range again for more help. I’m going to call the company listed on the box I received; who I assume is their trusted partner though I was never actually
told this.0
