Like another poster my Avro collapsed and now moved over to Octopus. Paying £86 a month on something called Flexible Avro. Info on the site is short on tariff details! 
Gas 26.11p per day and 3.91p/kWh
Electricity 26.45p per day and 20.01p/kWh
I think! It says Current annual amount: £1,222.11 yet the totals so far seem absurd. Hope somebody can make sense.The new offer is double.

I just posted the Meter readings and the electricity one is much less so that Electric total should end up less. I used 194 gas units (meter) Oct-now

Should have said, shocked, worried about the future as living on a low income!! Some old and sick will end up dead if prices go up as predicted. when my mother was old and frail and home all day her gas bill was £40 a week. Would never have survived these increases.

OK, here goes.

• On 30th Sep your account had £57.80 credit. You were then billed £8.06 for the period 26-30th Sep, comprising 36.67kWh of electricity at 20.01p/kWh and four days standing charge at 26.11p/day, all plus VAT. This left your account £49.74 in credit.
• On 29th Nov you made a payment of £86 to raise your credit balance to £135.74
• On 29th Dec you made another payment of £86 bringing your credit to £221.74
• On 31st Dec you were billed £268.72 for 6150.85kWh of gas + SC + VAT and £150.37 for 607.33kWh of electricity + SC + VAT.
• Your current account balance is -£197.35.
  

Octopus have now given you an offer (which you don't have to accept) of a fixed rate tariff. If you don't accept it you'll remain on their variable tariff, the one you're on now. The variable tariff is likely to increase in April. No-one knows exactly what the new tariff will be but it could be around 8p/kWh for gas (double your current rate) and 30p/kWh for electricity (half as much again as your current rate).

There were 109 days in your billing period. Electricity 607.33 => 5.57kWh per day which is really low. Gas 56.43kWh per day, also quite low considering this is winter. I would agree these seem absurd. Or you are doing something right. Although I would question how a bill dated 31 December can calculate energy up to 17 January. Were these amounts calculated using actual or smart meter readings, or estimates?

There is another issue. If these consumption levels for 109 days are extrapolated to 365 days at current tariffs, you would need to be paying £117 per month, not £86. OK, if these are based on Actual readings for 109 days in winter, and you stay on Flex Avro, your consumption rate should be less in the summer months, but the tariff will go up by about 50% in April. You need to increase your monthly payment to £120 now, so as not to build up a big debit balance. But don't accept the invitation for a new tariff now!

Right thanks. The 50% increase is confirmed by Octopus. Of course that's Winter useage. Still costing more than previous fixed deal. Luckiest are those on a fixed deal from a company that didn't go bust! Rigged Market. We get most of our gas from Norway but they are in the same Wholesale Market as everyone else and so are massively profiting.

So I just got my Electricity bill for 31 days to 27 January. 316 units. £72.10. A year ago my bill for electricity over 31 days, adjusted to 316 units would have been £47.27. (Was actually £50.71 beacuse I used 342 units). So that is a 52% increase in one year. And we are told to expect a 50% increase in April. A year ago my tariff was "Scottish Power Super Saver April 2021 B3". Now I am on "EON.Next Next Flex".
