My friend dad passed away.
Grant only has been applied what is that. 
But there was a will I think

    If there is a will you apply for grant of probate, if no will it is letters of administration

    Just looking at the  probate site I think Grant and Will = probate and Grant only = Letters of administration

    if you find it on the gov website and it says "grant only" you can apply for a copy of it for £1.50 and see what arrives
  • Just looking at the  probate site I think Grant and Will = probate and Grant only = Letters of administration
    Not necessarily. You can get a grant of letters of administration with a will (if for example the executors renounce).
