in Credit cards
Finally got rid of my credit cards, cancelled and cut up 13 of them, here they are in the dustbin. Started many years ago when interest rates were very high and would transfer from one to another. Now just keeping one with £0 balance.
So my message to you all is don't give up you can be free of them it just may take a while.

Halifax Clarity in case we get to France this year.
I had a Barclaycard since early 80s lots of fuel went on it and the rewards paid for my family and others ferry crossings. Sadly the rewards diminished over the years.0 -

Hopefully you have kept the Visa card the account came with as that currently pays an unbeatable (for a cashback non-Amex) 0.5%.0 -
No I haven't kept any of those accounts, they are all closed, yes a few of the cards were old as I just left them in a folder with statements in case I ever needed to re-open/open an account. The oldest card was from 2016 but most accounts were started around 1988-92 when we got into difficulties as redundancy and high inflation hit. From memory our mortgage went to 14%, just hope that does not happen again.0
