90 days per 180 days in EU/Schengen

Are arrival days and departure days included in this figure of 90 per 180 days? If so, then in 180 days you could do 90 in EU and 92 in UK per 180 days theoretically?
Are they actually monitoring this 90 days per 180 days for UK residents in Europe at the moment?
I recently did an 83 day trip and trying to work out when I can go back into Europe. Thanks!

Finally, note that the date of entry is considered the first day of stay and the date of exit is considered the last day to stay.

Yes checks are being made . These have always been made for non - EU countries. These are are not new checks for EU Border Forces. They are just applying these to U.K. now , as it’s no longer in the EU and doing the checks that they have always done for non-EU countries. The fines / penalties for overstaying may differ for each country in the Schengen area- as they each set their own.0 -
The checks are being rigorously enforced and rightly so. We travelled into KRK on Saturday with friends (ultimately returning to the UK/their country of nationality) and one party had many uncomfortable questions due to having a recently expired Czech work visa (I didn't get the full conversation, but like us they were entering the country for about 30 hours).
For an 83 day trip, as long as all of this was in Schengen, your best bet may be to wait until almost the 180 day mark from your entry before re-entering. Onashoestring has already posted the calculator I'd have send you to, so I won't post it again.
You can visit Ireland (unlimited stay), Romania, Bulgaria and Cyprus (90/180) in addition to the 90/180 in the Schengen area, which includes more than just the EU.💙💛 💔0 -
It's also back to the days when they stamp your passport every time you enter or leave the EU. In addition they are scanning them in the same way the UK does so I guess this feeds into a central EU register.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
