Bath screen

Options
Hi,

My house has a old shell backed bath I can't afford a new bath at the moment but was hoping to fit a shower screen. Is it possible with this style of bath?
Thank you 😊

A picture of said bath would be helpful.

Is the shell end the end where the shower head is? It looks to be the opposite end. The shower screen goes at the shower head end.

However, if it is at the shell end you can fit a shower screen but it'll have to open outwards rather than inwards as the raised shell bit would block it opening inwards.
  • Yes it's the shower head end. Would it need to be a curved or a straight one? Do all shower screens give the option of opening outwards? Could I fit it myself?  Sorry for all the questions!

It looks to be a rectangular bath so a bog standard one that pivots both ways would do you fine as long as there is no obstruction alongside the bath.
No man is worth crawling on this earth.

So much to read, so little time.
  • I would consider that, as you need to open it outwards to clean and possibly bath the children, will there be enough clearance?

You’ll need 2 people to fit it just due to the awkwardness, but it’s pretty easy, just drilling a few holes and screwing in the frame. The glass door then slots into the frame

I doubt there would be enough room, I think you'll need a curtain.

There’s not enough of a edge near the clam shell for a screen , it’ll leak like a sieve . Water will collect round the clam and run straight onto the floor .
