I know that the original instructions stated that you should not eat or drink for 30 minutes prior to an LFT, but with the more recent nose only packs, does that still stand? I can't find a definitive answer on this and I want to be sure that I am testing properly (I currently avoid food and drink for 30 mins but I think it may be unnecessary).
Any idea?

All that anyone can say is to follow the instructions in the actual pack you have in front of you.

We collected two packs last week - both by different manufacturers / branding.  The one pack we have opened to date is nose swab only and the instructions say to avoid eating & drinking for 30 minutes, so that is what we do.  We will check the instructions in the next pack when we open them for use and proceed accordingly.

If in doubt, I'd follow the protocol to not eat & drink for the half hour before the test.
  • Fair enough, this specific pack doesn't mention anything about eating/drinking but can't do any harm.

Can’t see how eating or drinking could make the slightest bit of difference when you’re only swabbing your nose. So no I don’t wait the 30 minutes.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
