Starling - Can't find messages?!

Options
Hey guys,

So this, morning I had two messages on my phone in the notifications (general for Android, not Starling app).

One of these was something about a direct debit being refused, by Vodafone, obviously important to rectify.. Try as I might I can't find this in the app anywhere! The notification was only part of the message, so I'd quite like to read it all!

Any help much appreciated, I can't believe I'm flummoxed by this, either I'm loosing the plot (likely!) or the UX is horrendous in the app..

Thanks

Is this a new direct debit that you have tried to set up or an existing one that the payment was refused for?

If the payment was declined due to not having enough money to cover the direct debit payment you’ll see it as declined on your transaction list.

If it’s a new direct debit then you can check the scheduled payments to see if it’s listed there, if it is then it’s been setup ok.

To get to messages just click on your profile icon on the top right, scroll down and select ‘help’, on this page select ‘talk to starling’

Thanks, it's a new one, which looks okay, the message said something like vodaphone has refused the direct debit or something - there's plenty of funds so it's not that.

When I do what you suggest it seems to just want to try and contact starling, as opposed to seeing a list of previous messages. Is that as expected?!

When I get to that contact starling page, I can see archived conversations towards the bottom. I can see the previous messages that I have received such as changes to terms and conditions notifications, previous chat history with them etc.

If you can’t see anything then it might be best to send them a message, I’ve found them to be helpful when I’ve contacted them.

Cheers, yeah it's totally blank for me, how, got another notification (which I can't see either!) saying Vodafone have now confirmed the Dd is setup properly, thankfully.

Odd that I can't see so probably still worth a chat with them.

    Cheers for the reply

On iPhone rather than Android but notifications like insufficient funds to pay a DD, add funds before 3pm only appears in the notifications and not within the app. On Apple they are set to temp by default so once you see them they are then deleted and so all record of what it said is gone but its an easy setting change to make them permanent so reading them doesnt remove them.
