If the item was sold on eBay as long as you prove delivery to the address given, then you are protected. I would always send the item though to a third party shipper with some form of tracking, if a phone probably special delivery which is RM's secure mail. (depending on the value). When sending an item overseas, this in my mind is one of the best ways to do so on ebay, as you only are responsible to the shippers address in the UK.

Ensure when you send that any code numbers/letters forming part of the address are there, as this is usually the unique identifier of the recipient. Obviously once dispatched upload the tracking number too against the item. Finally it may sound daft, ensure your short senders address is on the item eg house name or number and postcode. In the event of non delivery Royal Mail will know where to return the item too, instead of it ending up in Belfast.
Thanks for your reply I did send the item back and just a days after now the buyer has requested a return. I understand people can change mind but what I'm wondering is if it's a shipping company how they have already sent it to Bulgaria and the guy has already received it all within 48 hours or is it a scam and the shipping company is prob involved let's see what I get back hopefully if it's same item as I sent I don't mind refunding as long as they don't send me some stupid thing in a box just to show ebay they have returned it.

Is it a change of mind return or an SNAD?

My suspicious is the company is definitely involved as 1st if they do forward shipping the time difference is so little that I don't believe the guy in Bulgaria must have recieved the item within short span of time to now asking for return plus I assumed he would be sending back to the shipping company for them to send it back to me. Either a worker there js involved or the company have bought for a customer abroad and prob he changed mind or didn't pay and now they are sending it to me. Obviously it will all depends on what I get back and when. Coz ebay would have created a royal mail return label which of someone is in Bulgaria he can't use that return label which would be for customer in the UK. I will record a video opening the package hwne it arrives. Also the the company isn't very far from me so I will try to see what happen when I recieve the package back. Ebay say the buyer have till 5th Feb to send item back hopefully as its change of mind then I wouldn't have to pay for return postage.

For a change of mind return the buyer pays to return the item and any return label sent by ebay but paid for by the buyer will be from the original address it was sent to, not the overseas one. . If they try anything odd about returning then be ready to phone ebay and quote  the seller protection rules that state if a package is sent on from the original address then buyer can't use the buyer guarantee.

Hi just an update and some help I need. So the buy posted the item on 17th Jan but tracking stil stocked on same update fron 17th it hasn't moved not I have received the item. Now ebay emailed me saying I should have recieved the item and should refund by 29th but I haven't recieved it. It's not some small item but a phone cost over £400 so what am I suppose to do when I try to ask ebay help there isn't any option of selecting return not recieved but rather options like buyer sent wrong item or buyer send used item etc. Has anyone got any help to handle this please ?

I phoned Ebay and someone who answered seems knowledgeable and agreed that yeah it still in transit then she said she will extend it for 10 days more to see if it come now when I check my orders it seems she opened up a case which has 4th Feb as a date maybe that's how they do it.
