P&O cruise deferred from last year. P&O will not now accept unvaccinated passengers. Refund?

Booked a cruise with P&O in 2020. Cruise cancelled and accepted transfer to a cruise for this year.  However, P&O will not accept unvaccinated passengers and two of the party are not vaccinated. As this is a requirement imposed by P&O after the original cruise was booked, are there grounds for a refund if we cannot now travel?

Would depend on the terms of the original contract. but I very much doubt it. And it appears that all but 2 members of the party can travel, so there would be no grounds for refunding them.
Is this a case of medical exemption, or refusal?

Refusal. I'll have to look at the booking T's & C's.

may be worth checking about name changes also as deferring may be of no use as I cannot see the vaccination rules for cruises going away anytime soon.

If the cruise is more than 10 weeks away they have the opportunity to get vaccinated.

We're in the same position (just awaiting email confirmation that our cruise is affected).  Are you still more than 91 days away from the cruise date?  If so you should be able to get a refund minus deposit.  Or FCC to move it to next year, hoping that at some point these pointless restrictions will be dropped.

Do you have enough time before the trip to get vaccinated? That’s probably the easiest way around it

If they catch COVID on a cruise they are likely to need a helicopter to get them off. Then for a stay in a foreign ICU which could be quite lengthy and funeral costs. Does travel insurance cover it all? I was talking to someone who works in the travel industry. They were saying that was a big problem. No-one will insure them
