I have been an EDF customer for many years and am on a dual fuel tariff which ends on 28 February.
I presently pay £130 per month and they have offered a deal at £167.
Should I be considering this in this present market

Welcome to the forum. The answer is "maybe". It depends on the unit rates you're being offered, rather than the proposed monthly DD.You'll find much more discussion of fixed tariffs ve variable ones in the main Energy forum here:

Welcome to the LPG, Oil and alternative fuels section.
Whilst your post is off-topic for this section (its the one above it you want), you are not the first and won't be the last and the board admin won't amend the forum name. So, you will get some responses here but not as many as you would if you posted in the energy section.
I would take the deal and go with certainty of payment as things are unlikely to improve in the short term.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). OP check the actual unit and standing charge prices as the £167 is no more than an estimate .

I'm wondering why you would not consider it.
How does the tariff compare to what else is available to you?
Care to share with us the name of this particular EDF tariff?
