Vodafone error

Options
Any help please, Vodafone have added something to my credit file in error (has taken 4 months to get this far) however I am still waiting for it to be credited and removed from my credit file. I have raised a complaint with Vodafone they however keep saying they are going to call me and never do. When I try and call them no one can help me as my account is so old no one there can access it. They have completely wrecked my credit rating and no one there is even a little bit helpful. Any ideas how I can escalate this to actually get this resolved?

Without more information on exactly what Vodafone have added and why they have added it there is not very much help anyone can give you.

I can take a stab and say you thought you'd finished paying a contract, the final bill, which can take up to to two months to generate, was created but payment couldn't be taken as you'd cancelled the direct debit prior to this and before you received a "sorry you are leaving" letter along with the final bill. As a result Vodafone defaulted you.

Is the complaint more than 8 weeks old? If so refer the matter to the ombudsman, ICO or FOS.
  • No the complaint is not more than 8 weeks old.

Vodafone have in error as admitted by them added £1576 termination fees to an account I had with them in 2003, although they have admitted it's their error 3 weeks later they have still not credited it.

FOS won't be interested, this is a telecoms company, not a financial institution.

I doubt the ICO will be interested either.

They'd need to complain via whichever ADR Vodafone subscribes to.
