Hi guys
Elsewhere on the MSE website is an excellent article on IHT thresholds - https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/family/inheritance-tax-planning-iht/.
In it there is reference to a "residence nil-rate (aka 'main residence') band. It's an additional £175k of allowance.
Trouble is, I can't find where on the IHT205(2011) form to include this allowance (and neither can I find reference to it in the guidance notes (IHT2062011).
This is important to me as my late parents' home falls midway between £650k and £1M in value.
I'm still researching what has to be done with regards form filling so I may well come across what I'm looking for. But if someone can point me in the right direction it'll save me a lot of digging!
Thanks in advance,
Gary
