Large porcelain tile installation

Kitchen is 5m by 6m. Concrete floor that has been screeded. Wet underfloor heating installed under screed. Builder says tiles will be fine with adhesive. We will go with 800x800mm porcelain tiles. I’m a little nervous about any cracking or damage.
I’ve seen stuff like anti-fracture mats in the tile shops. Is it worth having stuff like this or is it just a gimmick?

I've never heard of anti fracure mats tbh. As long as the adhesive is suitable (no ready mixed stuff as it won't set under large format tiles) you will be fine. The adhesive will neet to be a consistent thickness under the tile so the full tile is supported. The fitter will use a large notched trowel to ensure this hopefully.1

Back butter the tiles to ensure full coverage of adhesive. Use a tile leveling system - Plenty to choose from, and well worth the expense.rob7475 said: The adhesive will need to be a consistent thickness under the tile so the full tile is supported. Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.1 -
Having learned from experience I would never lay a floor tile without Ditra mat or similar. Wet underfloor heating, limestone floor throughout here and with Ditra. No cracks or fractures.0

They are big tiles, choose your tiler carefully if you want a nice flat floor.0
