Morning all
I feel a bit more positive today - I have a work meeting later this morning to try and resolve the work issues (they are not big problems but are bothering me!).
I have hoovered and fed the birds and am working from home today.
There is a heavy frost but I don't need to go out so it isn't an issue for me today.
As I managed to do a lot of chores yesterday, I don't need to do too much housework today.
Leek and Potato soup for lunch - not sure about tea but have some crackers/cottage cheese so may have that.
Have a lovely day all and stay nice and warm!

Morning
Manic monday here after slothy sunday
scarlett Glad the dreaded virus didn't affect you too badly.
camelot I too am a a legendary knitter ....things take so long they become part of history. Yesterday for example I did a whole 2 lines ! This cardi will be complete in 2025 if I rush.
TA hope the blood test goes well
Gers Your location sounds amazing v. jealous
Had a lovely day yesterday. Very little done apart from throwing together some coronation turkey, watching bad films and two lines of knitting. Enjoyed DOI but Phil Schofield irritates me a bit now . He's not only on most shows but most adverts as well
Do need to sort the kitchen out today along with the requisite washing and dishwasher. Few calls to complete.
Pasta with mushrooms and bacon tonight. I'll probably have the bit of chicken left lover from yesterday in a sandwich at lunch. Net result nothing for the freezer ...back of the net!
Have a lovely Monday everyone

Morning, hugs if you need one. A quick hello this morning, we are off out shortly. We have had a heavy overnight frost, thankfully we put the windscreen cover on the car, so once the heat is on it will not be too bad.
Sun is out so the frost should 'give' a bit.
Chicken from last night for supper, not sure what with yet, rhubarb crumble to finish off.9 -
Morning all...Thanks for asking but don't worry about me, i was having a bit of a hibernating week, still no car, was very fed up about it all. Who knew I relied on it so much, otherwise I'm in here staring at an ugly house I can't do anything about. My PMA deserted me a bit. Never mind, fire is roaring, we have leftover roast for supper and I have an appointment with the shower and some clothes to be presentable later on.OH has ordered himself a spanking new TV with bells, whistles and could probably make him a cup of coffee if left to it's own devices to go with his shiny XBox, I don't begrudge him, he is the non spender of us two, he buys himself some plastic crack now and again [ 40k items] and that's about it. We currently have two tv's [one for his Xbox, one for my computer] both bought on gumtree for fifty quid or something, so one of them can go back on there again, or FB. Listed a couple of things on ebay last night, taking advantage of their lower selling price fees and I have three bags for the CS. I also sorted my spices again, ten out, four in..I spend some time each day looking at something with the narrowed side eye before chucking it, bagging it or recycling it. I'm gradually whittling everything down. I might even get the sewing machine out today and make some sleeves for this thing I bought last year, it's like a sleeveless overdress with a ruched front and cowl type neck, just the thing to chuck on when it's cold. Except obviously, your arms would be cold...
Nanny, good to hear your scan was fast and painless..camelot, no matter how many times you say it's nice, I'm never going to not shudder at the thought of freezing cold swimming, you have some ba...fortitude
TA, hope they find a vein on the first go..bella, congrats on your future holiday. scarlet, hope your bout goes quickly, good to hear it was mild though..ruby, same to you! snoozer, glad your laptop saga is resolved! ish... Gers, your lake visit sounds lovely, I have to ask [ eventually], what promtped you to move there in the first place? Look after yourselves, it's the time of [hot] toddy....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi13 -
Morning all, it's sunny once again and a balmy 0 degrees, brrr 🥶
DD called round yesterday to show us her new car, it's a lovely shade of blue and a bit smaller than her old one, thus endeth my knowledge of cars 😂 I met a new neighbour while I was outside, she's moved in with her DH and her grown up DD a few doors down. It's nice to see a more mature family move into the road as it's all been youngsters lately.
I have an emergency appointment at the dentist at 12 so not much will be accomplished today, hope they are on the ball as only 2 patients at a time are allowed inside the waiting room, you have to wait outside the building, but at least it's not raining. As I have no idea of the outcome at the dentist I can't plan tea till we get home, never mind there is have plenty in to choose from. The dw needs emptying and the recycling box needs to go out too today.
Right I'm off to get myself some brunch, think I'll have poached egg on toast as I haven't had that for a long time and there's plenty of eggs.
Take care and hugs to all.

Morning all
Very cold and frosty here, the dogs poked their noses out of the door and 'nope' straight back in the warm, they are funny things they would happily go out for a walk in the freezing cold or pouring rain, but put a foot in the garden no way !
Still ok here no symptoms at all, dd has gone to work as her boss said as long as she tests negative then she can go in, OH and I at home, I am waiting to hear from work to see if I am in the rest of the week or not !
Left over roast for dinner tonight, will do a bit more veg as we ate a lot yesterday, the xmas beef was still tasty and the turkey joint lovely, so looking forward to a nice dinner, I need to make some more yorkshires too and only two left.
WM is on with a load and I will have a hoover and tidy through, This afternoon I have a meds course to complete for my new venture, it takes about three hours so not looking forward to that !
Taff lovely to see you posting xxx
NRA thinking of you xxx
Have good days all xx12 -

For many years, probably about 17 or 18, I came here on holiday twice a year, always staying on this estate and booking the same beautiful cottage. The owner and family became friends and this place was always my retreat, getting away from the challenges of my work, and somewhere where I could recharge myself. My first action on arriving at the holiday cottage was to open the car door, look across the sea to Jura and just listen to the silence.

When I was thinking about retiring I asked about buying the holiday cottage - that was never going to happen as that particular one was the best with best views and always booked up. However, I was offered another one, not a holiday let, which was very much in need of TLC. I gave it my TLC. The view is wonderful, the silence is golden and all the inconveniences of very rural life are compensated for by the sheer pleasure I get from it - even when dragging in logs from the barn when it's raining or wishing for mains gas for heating and showering and so on. The cottage isn't perfect but it beats (for me) city life, although city life isn't too far away so I can pop back into it whenever I feel the need.
My favourite cafe in Glasgow has had the new Batgirl filming right outside, the photos on FB are great. I think that Glasgow is overun with Batgirl stuff right now. I'm going down on Wednesday for an overnight visit so will have a poke around.
Well, I've booked my car in for MOT and service on Wednesday, done my weekly banking, brought some logs in though I won't light the stove just yet.
Nanny - I hope that the dentist can finally fix the problem, or at least come up with a proper plan for you.
