Hi all,
Sorry a newbie to the forum and I have read through the newbies thread but still unsure of what I should do. I received this through the post a couple of days ago. Am not entirely sure what it is. I have ignored letters orignally and sorry I did now. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello and welcome. With a Claim Issue Date of 10th January, you have until Monday 31st January to file an Acknowledgment of Service, but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.To file an AoS, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.Having filed an AoS in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 14th February 2022 to file your Defence. That's over four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute. To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service instructions.Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.
Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.2 -
Hi KeithP,
Thanks for that I will get onto it.

When registering as an indiviual putting in the address. The address was my old one so should I put my new address in now.1
-
You've not made it very clear what you are talking about but everyone needs to know your current address for service.
That includes:
- the CCBC
- the Claimant, i.e. PE.
- the DVLA - for both your Driving Licence and your vehicle's Registration Document.

Wow, that is a dangerous position to be in. If you don't insist on PE and the CCBC erasing your old address and noting your correct address for service, asap, you are on a fast track to a CCJ, as you could miss a vital court letter.Jocks1982 said:When registering as an indiviual putting in the address. DO NOT just rely on them noticing the difference in your acknowledgement or in your defence.
Ignoring letters after they traced your new address was a terrible mistake as you could have appealed late. ParkingEye let people appeal right up to LBCCC stage and the retail park agents or Store Manager of Bed Factory could have cancelled it with one email. Dead easy but not now.
Are you saying they traced your new address but then reverted to the old one for the claim? Diabolical if so.
But you should have responded earlier.
Jayne Leonard is a new name signing off PE claims. Interesting but irrelevant observation.
Check out the examples of ParkingEye defences in the second post of the NEWBIES thread and don't use the non-ParkingEye template by mistake.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Jayne Leonard is a new name signing off PE claims. Interesting but irrelevant observation. Also Head of Legal at Glyde Ltd, a parking technology company who share the same address as PE and has the same MD - P Boynes (the guy who appeared in front of the Select Committee).
Diversification?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I had changed my address on my license but forgot about my log book for the car. I can still receive the letters as my wife is still living in previous address. That is how I got the claim form.1

I have changed my address twice in the last year as I was back living with my mum before finding a place of my own.0

Which is why people complain about missing paperwork , due to not meeting their legal obligation to update their V5C !Jocks1982 said:I had changed my address on my license but forgot about my log book for the car. The DVLA can fine you up to £1000 for not doing so , a real fine
But you now need to deal with a live court claim , following the advice on here, especially in the newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum in announcements
Also ensure that your current address is given to all parties0 -
Ok I will do. The carpark in question relies on you putting your vehicle registration inside the bed factory shop, I imagine on a touchscreen or something. I don't know as I didn't go into the shop.0
