Who makes quartz worktops in the UK?

I'm shopping for a new kitchen and have spoken to Wren, Magnet and Howdens. All three seem to offer the same quartz worktops. I've also noticed that they have the same worktops online, some even using the same name as that found in the listed showrooms.
Am I right in thinking that everyone is buying from the same factory producing quartz worktops and are reselling plus doing the cut and install? I ask because if it's all coming out of the same factory, then the only difference is the templating and install?

I bought my kitchen from Howdens but they advised I go direct to Prestige Granite & Marble for the worktops rather than buy through themselves. I didn't in the end as I got wooden ones but I've heard a few people recommend them since. Not sure if they only cover the north west though.0

There are a limited number of manufacturers of worktops (be it laminate or solid/synthetic). It is the installation that can make or break a kitchen. Accurate templating is crucial for a good fit, even more so if you don't want upstands.rentalforever said: Am I right in thinking that everyone is buying from the same factory producing quartz worktops and are reselling plus doing the cut and install? Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
I'm in the South East, SurreyRosa_Damascena said:Where are you based, OP?0 -
When we did our kitchen we used a local company to us called Landford Stone, pretty sure they would cover Surrey though.
They have their own range that they said was manufactured just for them, Oyster Quartz I think. We found it to be quite a bit cheaper than others we had looked at and were impressed with their fit and service. May be too early (only 6 months in) to give an opinion on the quality but seems pretty good so far.0 -
Im after a granite worktop, but just checked, these only do up to 90 miles from Liverpool so no good to me in the North East. Worth a look though.chrisw said:I bought my kitchen from Howdens but they advised I go direct to Prestige Granite & Marble for the worktops rather than buy through themselves. Great idea. I had seen brands like DuPont Corian which I know is a different material but didn’t realise there were brands behind the quartz worktops too. I’ll do some more digging!EssexExile said:Ask them what brand of quartz they use, there are many.

I used Croydon Granite (twice), they cover all of Surrey and have a good range as well as competitive prices. Their fitting was excellent

That was an American website I linked to but many of the brands are available here. We had Caesarstone put in many years ago and it's great.rentalforever said:
