I like the option I saw on MSE about financing a car purchase with a 0% interest credit card, but all the ones mentioned on MSE seem to have a limit of only £1200, which you can't get much of a car for.
Anyone know of any 0% cards with higher limits (£10,000-£12000)?

The £1,200 you see is just an arbitrary figure used in representative comparisons, and bears no relation to the actual limits granted. Any limit you'd be given is dependent entirely on your own credit status and affordability, so it's impossible to say what that would be, but £10-12K would be highly unlikely for the vast majority of new applications.
Most car dealers won't accept full payment by credit card in any case, due to transaction costs that can't be recovered, so it may all be academic anyway....3 -
I have a impeccable credit history but when I applied recently for Barclaycard with a 0% purchase option I only got a £5K limit.1

You may need to settle for a card with a lower limit initially but then be willing to ask for it to be increased specifically for the car purchase. This has worked for me in the past - but admittedly I'd had the cards for a while before asking.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. Credit limits are very personal and will depend on income, existing commitments and the banks own appetites/preferences.
Just did soft checks for the Mrs and one gave an indicative limit of £10,800 (MBNA) and the other £4,400 both however were long timescale BT cards rather than purchase cards or money transfer.
Your bigger issue is going to be finding a car dealer that will accept a £10k payment by credit card, most will only accept the initial deposit by credit card due to the percentage fee credit cards charge. You are then stuck at looking at money transfer cards and the options for those are much smaller.0
